Violeta Szekely


Violeta Szekely, née Beclea (born 26 March 1965, in Dolheştii Mari, Suceava County)〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Violeta Beclea-Szekely Bio, Stats and Results )〕 is a Romanian former middle distance runner who competed mainly in the 1500 metres. She competed in two Olympic Games, in 1992 and 2000.
Szekely retired after the 2002 season.
== Doping ==
Beclea tested positive for steroids in February 1995 and was subsequently handed a four-year ban from sports.〔LA Times: (Lewis (64) Leads at New Orleans ), 31 March 1995〕 She also lost the fourth place from the 1500 m at the 1995 IAAF World Indoor Championships.
